El Pimpi Marbella

El Pimpi Marbella is the Marbella version of the famous El Pimpi restaurant in Málaga city, which has been around for over 50 years and is partly owned by Antonio Banderas. If you've ever visited the original in Málaga, you'll probably know how popular it is, both with locals and tourists!

The Marbella restaurant is located inside Puente Romano, but offers something a little different from the glamorous restaurants the resort is usually known for. Here, the focus is more on traditional Spanish and Andalusian food, with tapas, fresh seafood, croquettes, Spanish classics and dishes made for sharing.

What I really like about the concept is that they've brought a little of that traditional Andalusian atmosphere into Puente Romano. They also have live Spanish guitar and flamenco performances on selected evenings, which I think makes it a lovely option if you're looking for a proper Spanish dinner experience rather than the usual Marbella glamour.

Of course, being located in Puente Romano, the prices are higher than what you would normally expect from a traditional Spanish tapas restaurant, especially compared to the original El Pimpi in Málaga.

I would say it's an interesting alternative if you want to enjoy an evening at Puente Romano but prefer something more traditionally Spanish and a little less focused on the flashy Marbella scene. And if you're planning a trip to Málaga city, the original El Pimpi is also worth having on your list!
