Alcazaba Vive Lagoon

Alcazaba Vive Lagoon in Casares is such a lovely place for a day out, especially if you're looking for something a little different from the usual beach clubs along the coast! It's located about 15 minutes west of Estepona and has this huge turquoise lagoon surrounded by white sandy beaches and sunbeds. It almost feels like you've gone on a little holiday somewhere tropical!

We've actually been here with Atlas, and I have to say, it was a really nice experience with a baby. There's plenty of space, a smaller pool for kids and a much more relaxed atmosphere than at many of the beach clubs around Marbella. You can spend the whole day here, swimming, relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. They also have kayaks and paddleboards if you feel like doing something more active.

There are two restaurants on site. One is located right by the lagoon, which is lovely for lunch with a view of the water, and the other is a smaller restaurant closer to the entrance with beautiful views over the area. There are also two bars, and one of them can get quite lively with louder music, so the atmosphere depends a little on where you choose to spend your day.

They even have massages available on site, which is a nice little bonus if you want to treat yourself while you're there.

Day passes vary depending on the season, usually from around €30 to €65 per person, with July and August being the most expensive months. You can book online, and I'd recommend doing so in advance during summer.

I think this is a great option for couples, friends and families with younger children. We really enjoyed our day here with Atlas, and it's definitely somewhere I'd happily return to. A lovely alternative when you want a beach day without actually going to the beach!
