Basic Fit sits frontline beach on the paseo, central Estepona, Av. España 224. Big and modern, 880+ reviews on Google with a 4.7 average. Easier to reach than most if you're staying in town, with Dott scooters and rental bikes nearby for the lazy walk over.
Standard chain layout, full machines, free weights, cardio and a functional zone. Cleaner and busier than most because of the location.
Open 7am to 10:30pm weekdays, 8 to 9 weekends.

Membership is the usual Basic Fit pricing model but worth checking on their site as it changes by promo.

Synergym is the big Spanish budget chain and the Estepona branch is on Av. de los Reales. Decent size, everything you need from free weights, squat racks, dumbbells and machines to cardio and a functional zone. Over 600 reviews on Google with a 4.4 average so plenty of feedback if you want to dig in.

Around 150 hours of classes a week if that's your thing. No long term contract which is rare round here.

Membership is roughly 25 to 40 euros a month depending on tier, day pass around 6.50. Open early until late on weekdays, shorter weekend hours.

Good value if you just want to train without being tied in.

Located in the new build area of Las Mesas, Estepona. This is where most of my clients go when the community gym isn't cutting it. Mix of international machines and Etenon, the Etenon stuff isn't anything special but it does the job and there's more variety than any urbanisation gym. Padel courts on site, 10 glass courts including a panoramic central, plus a padel school, mixings and tournaments. Vida Sana next door, a healthy protein restaurant with smoothies, shakes and proper food enjoyed by gym goers, padel players and locals alike. Spa and relax zone, outdoor fitness area with sea views, over 50 hours of weekly classes (Body Pump, Spinning, Yoga, Pilates, TRX, Zumba and more), personal training, physio and osteopathy on site. Location is great, underground parking with 90+ spaces so you're not circling for a spot.

Supera is the massive public sports complex on Calle Ciudad Real, officially Complejo Deportivo Supera José Ramón de la Morena. Proper large scale chain focused on big sites mostly used by locals over the smaller boutique places. Indoor heated lap pool, saunas, two steam rooms, hot tub, full gym floor and group classes. Recently renovated locker rooms.

Around 600 reviews on Google sitting at 3.9. Machines are older but plenty of them and the place is huge so you're never queuing. Cheapest option in town for what you get.

Open 8 to 11 weekdays, shorter weekends. Cafe on site. lockers, day passes, month passes and discounts for locals

Similan Thai Massage on Calle Real, second line in Estepona, tucked away and you go downstairs to enter. Small place, two beds divided by a curtain so it works for couples too. Proper Thai massage with the overhead bars the masseuse holds onto while standing on you, the real thing, not the watered down version. Nothing shady going on, just qualified Thai therapists doing actual bodywork. Serves men and women equally. Fixed my stiff neck in one session after weeks of trying to stretch it out myself. Clean, warm, quiet, soft music and they use proper paper covers on the beds. Bookings recommended because it's small and fills up quickly, especially weekends.

Elba Hotel Spa in Estepona, great option if you don't want to drop big money for a spa day. Compact spa area but it covers the basics, central pool with jacuzzi sections, a couple of saunas and olympic showers. Massages and treatments available too. Call ahead about couples deals and weekday specials, sometimes worth it depending on the week. Not a place you'll spend the whole day at but does the job for a couple of hours, a date afternoon or just a circuit and out. Located off the AP-7 at the Arena Beach urbanisation, easy to find with parking on site.

Skip the hunt for street parking and just go straight to the main underground parking on the frontline, take the stairs up and you're a couple of minutes away. 5.0 on Google with nearly 600 reviews which speaks for itself. Mohammad runs the chair and gets named in most of the reviews. Cuts, beard trims and shaping. Book in advance, especially Saturdays and Friday evenings, walk ins usually end up waiting or sent away. Open weekdays 10 to 2 and 5 to 9, Saturday 10 to 2, closed Sunday.

Lady run salon that handles both sides under one roof, Antonella does the womens cuts, colour and highlights, and Jeanpiero handles the mens cuts and beards. 4.9 on Google with over 540 reviews so the quality is consistent across both. Same parking trick as anywhere in the centre, leave the car in the main frontline underground parking and walk up, much quicker than circling the old town. Book ahead, especially Friday afternoons and Saturdays, walk ins fill the chairs quickly. Open weekdays 10 to 2 and 5 to 8, Saturday 10 to 2, closed Sunday.
