Alferini is the championship course at Villa Padierna and the hardest of its three. The club credits designer Cristóbal Guerrero, and the course opened in 2007. It is a par 73 of 6,641 metres, a rare par on the Costa del Sol, with five par 5s. The holes climb into quiet hillside away from the housing, around four lakes, and every hole has five tee levels, so you can pick your fight. Known holes include the par-3 14th, played to a peninsula green, and the long par-5 16th, which follows a stream uphill to a bunkered green. In 2022 it hosted the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España, the closing event of the Ladies European Tour season, won by Caroline Hedwall. Handicap limits are 24 for men and 32 for women. Rounds run close to five hours, and a buggy is advised. The summer 2026 rate was 118 euros with buggy included until 15 September. It closed 24 August to 6 September 2026 for aeration.

Villa Padierna Golf Club, all three courses: an individual membership is 80,000 euros to join plus 3,956 a year for unlimited golf, VAT on top, the buggy 742 a year; a 30 round card is 1,984 instead. Spouse and children under 25 join with no entry fee at 2,495 a year each. Corporate is 100,000 to join then 7,912. Memberships are transferable, guests get 50 percent off for 25 rounds then 25, spa and gym included. Members play 2 weekly competitions with an annual ranking, the Flamingos Trophy on Sundays and the Alferini Trophy on Wednesdays, plus the club championship and the interclub teams (verified with the club, Sep 2026).
The resort's 17 bay range at Tramores; balls are free and unlimited on the day you play.

On Leadingcourses, Alferini rates 8.2 inside Villa Padierna's overall 8.1 from 360 reviews (read 2026). Top100 user reviews average 4.5 of 5, and that site ranks it 35th on the Costa del Sol. Players praise the fast greens, the good tee boxes, the space and the feeling of playing far from the coast. The repeated warnings: rounds are long, the course asks a lot of higher handicaps, and an August 2026 reviewer found slow greens and dry fairways during the summer water restrictions.
