Alhaurín Golf Resort stands at the foot of the Sierra de Mijas outside Alhaurín el Grande, about half an hour from the coast. Seve Ballesteros designed it, and the Andalusian federation lists the founding year as 1993. The par-72 course measures 6,045 metres and uses an unusual card: five par 5s, five par 3s and eight par 4s. The front nine crosses rugged, wooded slopes with several blind shots; the back nine opens onto a flatter plain. Mountain views follow the whole round. A buggy is almost essential, and first-time visitors should study the hole maps before they play. Beside the main course sit a nine-hole par 3 academy course, a grass practice ground and a four-star hotel with 38 rooms. Green fees with a shared buggy run about 67 to 82 euros through late 2026, with public rates of 80 to 110 euros across winter and spring 2027. It suits golfers who want scenery and a different, demanding day at a modest price; straight hitters get the most from it.
The club's own 2026 card, shared buggy included: 80 euros in low season, 85 in mid, 100 in high; early bird and twilight rounds 70 to 85. Packs run from 5 rounds at 350 euros to 50 at 2,500.
A year of unlimited golf with the buggy is 2,670 euros, 4,250 for two. The cheaper Azul card is 1,400 a year plus 12 euros a round. Six months 1,900, a month from 530, a week from 275; the 9 hole par 3 course alone is 700 a year (verified with the club, Aug 2026).
Sixty bays over 300 metres, with a chipping green, a bunker, an 18 flag putting green and a par 3 loop.

On Leadingcourses it scores 7.7 from 761 reviews (read 2026), one of the biggest review counts on the coast; surroundings score 8.5 and value 7.9. Golfshake users give 4.0 from 54 reviews with 89 percent ready to return. Players praise the mountain setting, the variety and the friendly pro-shop staff. The warnings repeat across platforms: many blind shots punish a first visit, greens and bunkers sometimes fall short of the views, and the terrain is too much to walk for most. Single-figure visitors call it a course for skilled, patient players.
