The New Course is Atalaya's second 18, on higher ground above the Old Course. The German designer Paul Krings laid it out, and it opened in 1990. The club lists it at par 72 and 5,558 metres from the back tees, so it is short for a par 72, but the ground is not flat: holes climb and drop through cork oaks and olive trees, with wide views of the sea and Gibraltar from the highest holes. The par-3 4th plays across a lake, the 14th is the hardest hole with a half-blind tee shot, and the 18th is the longest, a par 5 with water at the green. The Bermuda greens are firm and quick. It suits players who value views and accuracy over length; in summer heat the club itself advises a buggy. A share is 12,000 euros plus a 5,000 activation fee, then a year is 2,500 unlimited on both courses, or 1,800 with 20 rounds. Children under 18 play free (verified with the club, Aug 2026).

What the internet says
Most platforms rate Atalaya as one club, and that combined Leadingcourses listing scores 7.6 from 295 reviews (read 2026). For the New Course alone, Golfshake users give 4.1 of 5 from 35 reviews, and 100 percent would play again. Players praise the views, the pace of the greens and the general condition, and several prefer its variety to the Old. The warnings are consistent: it is much hillier than the Old Course, rounds can run slow, greens have shown bare patches in some seasons, and walkers find summer rounds hard work.
