Baviera Golf
🛰️ The course from the sky↓
Baviera Golf lies in the Vélez valley at Caleta de Vélez, thirty minutes east of Málaga and five hundred metres from the marina. José María Cañizares designed it, and the Spanish federation lists the founding year as 2000. It is a par 71 on largely flat land, rare on this coast, so it walks easily. The defence sits on and around the greens: large, rolling putting surfaces and a wide mix of hazards, with the back nine more technical than the open front nine. Mountain and sea views frame the later holes, and the restaurant terrace looks down on the 18th. The practice range carries Toptracer shot-tracking, and there is covered parking for hot days. Official 2026 rates are 97 euros for 18 holes, 56 euros twilight, 50 euros for nine holes and 38 euros for a buggy; online tee times often sell for 55 to 60 euros outside peak weeks. It suits holiday golfers of every level, walkers, and anyone staying in Torre del Mar or Nerja, where it is the local course.
The club's own rates: 105 euros in high season mornings from mid September, 60 after 14:00; 56 to 73 in the early September maintenance week. The buggy is included in most rates.
Play memberships by the season: one person pays 770 euros for two months, up to 2,350 for a full year; a couple 1,280 up to 3,780. Each round adds a 6 euro online supplement, and members book up to a week ahead (verified with the club, Aug 2026).
A covered 21 bay range over 300 metres with Toptracer, plus two putting greens, two chipping greens and two practice bunkers.
Ménade in the clubhouse takes public table bookings, midday to seven.
What the internet says
On Leadingcourses it scores 7.7 from 447 reviews (read 2026), with hospitality at 8.0 the strongest sub-score. Golfshake users give 4.3 from 23 reviews and 100 percent would play again. Reviewers praise the greens, the big range with shot tracking, the indoor parking and the terrace. The warnings: rounds can stretch toward five hours when the course fills, fairways brown in dry months, and several call the list price high for the area, which makes the cheaper online times matter.
