Flamingos Golf is the main course of the Villa Padierna resort, beside the Anantara palace hotel between Benahavís and Estepona. Antonio García Garrido designed it, and it opened in 2001 as the first of the resort's three courses. It is a par 71 of 5,714 metres. The front nine is tighter than the back, and three of the five par 3s come early. The greens are large, the bunkers hold white marble chips, and the grounds are styled like an Italian estate, with cypress trees, statues and sea views. It hosted a European Senior Tour match play event from 2002 to 2004 and the Women's Spanish Open in 2010, which Laura Davies won. Handicap limits are 28 for men and 36 for women. In summer 2026 the resort sold rounds at 106 euros with a buggy until 15 September, and autumn tee times listed at 114 to 130 euros. The course closed 24 August to 6 September 2026 for green aeration.

What the internet says
On Leadingcourses, Flamingos rates 8.3, the best of the resort's three courses, inside Villa Padierna's overall 8.1 from 360 reviews (read 2026). Top100 user reviews average 3.5 of 5, and golfinspain users give the resort 3.7 from 61 reviews. Players praise the setting, the service and the fun, technical golf. The repeated warnings: August 2026 reviewers found dry fairways and rough tee boxes, which the club blamed on water restrictions, Flamingos runs busier than its sister courses, and the ornate styling is not to every taste.
The course and the greens
Many reviewers praise smooth fairways and quick, well kept greens. Some visits found the greens soft and slow, so the standard seems to vary through the year.
Arrival and the welcome
TripAdvisor visitors often mention smiling, helpful staff who hand you the buggy keys and check you have everything. The drinks cart service also gets friendly mentions.
