This is the former Marbella Golf and Country Club, on the hills at Marbella's eastern entrance, five minutes from the centre. Robert Trent Jones Sr designed it; the club dates the opening to 1994, though some guides say 1989. Higuerón Developments bought the course and renamed it Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort in November 2025, announcing a future redesign with Robert Trent Jones Jr; no dates or details are public yet. The course is a par 72 of about 6,000 metres through olive groves and ravines, with many uphill and downhill shots. The front nine is short and narrow and punishes greedy play; the back nine is longer and opens up. The long par-3 8th sits in an olive grove, and the 2nd is a double-dogleg par 5. A buggy is included in most rates and close to necessary. On the 2026/27 rate lists, public prices with buggy run from 110 euros in the quiet months to 170 euros at the May and October peaks; nine holes cost 67 euros with a shared buggy, and summer offers exist.
The club's official 2026 card, shared buggy included: 110 euros in low season, 139 in high; nine holes 67 to 85, twilight 83 to 104.50.
Five yearly tiers: Hole in One unlimited golf 4,200 euros (7,700 a couple), Albatross 75 rounds 3,600, Eagle six periods of 30 days 3,100 (5,750 a couple), Birdie 50 rounds 2,700, Par 1,060 plus 35 a round. Only 215 memberships exist and the waiting list is over 80 people (verified with the club, Sep 2026).
Two practice areas with chipping and putting; balls come via the club's app or pro shop tokens.
El Olivo serves daily from half past seven in the morning.

Leadingcourses users score it 7.5 from 373 reviews, one of the biggest samples in Marbella (read 2026). Golfshake shows 4.4 of 5 from 54 reviews with 95 percent ready to return; Top100GolfCourses users average 3.5 and the site ranks it 56th on the Costa del Sol. Praise goes to the olive-grove setting, the conditioning, the staff and the food. The warnings: the front nine is repeatedly called brutal for handicaps, pace can crawl, and with the Trent Jones Jr rebuild announced, players should expect works at some point; no closure dates are published.
