Miguel Ángel Jiménez Golf Academy

The Miguel Ángel Jiménez Golf Academy opened in February 2013 in La Colina, Torremolinos, five minutes from Málaga airport. The Ryder Cup player designed the nine-hole par 3 course himself and built the school to make golf affordable for local children and adults. The holes are short, under 100 metres, but the greens are quick and full of movement. The 7th, named Angustias, takes its idea from the 12th at Augusta National. Around the course sit a two-level floodlit driving range, chipping and bunker areas, a putting green, a PING fitting centre and a small shop and cafe. In 2026 nine holes cost 23 euros and a double loop of 18 costs 33 euros, with twilight prices of 20 and 27 euros after 2pm. Range tokens cost 2 euros for 20 balls. It suits beginners, juniors, and travellers with spare hours before a flight. In summer 2026 the site stays open until 10pm on weekdays.

On Leadingcourses it scores 5.7 from 22 reviews (read 2026), with hospitality at 5.0 and the restaurant at 4.7; reviewers there describe a small, crowded site where golfers queue to tee off. Hole19 golfers rate it 4.5 from more than 50 reviews, and Albrecht Golf Guide users average 4.0 of 5, praising cheap golf, good greens and the teaching. The repeated warnings: it gets very busy, the practice areas feel tight, and it is a practice centre, not a full course day out.
