La Quinta Golf and Country Club is a 27-hole club in the hills above San Pedro, at the mouth of the Benahavís golf valley. Manuel Piñero designed it with Antonio García Garrido. It opened in 1989 with 18 holes and grew into three nine-hole loops: San Pedro (par 35), Ronda (par 35) and Guadaiza (par 36). You play any two loops as your 18. San Pedro is the widest, Ronda is narrow, and Guadaiza is the most technical. The greens are firm and quick, and the green fee includes range balls before you start. The Westin La Quinta hotel sits on the course. The club hosted the Benahavís Senior Masters, a European Senior Tour event, from 2009 to 2012, and the Women's Spanish Open in 2011 and 2018. Public green fees for 2026/27 run from 126 to 160 euros by season. Online tee times start near 98 euros in summer 2026. Buggies cost extra outside package offers.

A shareholder club, and the club itself sells no shares: you buy a golf share from an existing shareholder at a price the two of you agree, then pay the club a one-off entrance and activation fee of 3,500 euros for a single share or 5,000 for a family share, plus 21% VAT. Every year after that comes the maintenance fee, 1,600 euros single or 2,400 family in 2026, paid whether you play or not, and you play on top of it: a member's green fee is 50 to 60 euros a round (guests 55 to 70), or packages of 50, 80 or 120 rounds at 2,200, 2,900 and 3,600, 20 rounds for 900, and unlimited golf for juniors at 1,100; family shares can share the packages. A buggy is 34 to 42 a round or 540 to 2,200 as a package. Members get the gym free, discounts around the Westin resort, and up to 3 guests a flight, 20 a year. The share is for life and you leave by selling it. Without a share, the club sells a yearly package of 50 rounds for 3,500 euros in place of the old visitor card, which is gone (verified with the club, September 2026).

On Leadingcourses, La Quinta scores 7.9 from 214 reviews (read 2026) and holds a Golfers Choice 2026 badge. Golfshake shows 4.1 of 5 from 49 reviews, and 96 percent would play again. The Albrecht Golf Guide gives 4.0 of 5 from 29 reviews, and Top100 user reviews average 4.0. Players praise the condition, the quick greens, the staff and the choice of loops. The repeated warnings: five-hour rounds when the tee sheet is full, no marshal on the course, and buggies and extras that raise the real cost.
