La Reserva Club

⛳ 18 holes · par 72 Cabell B. Robinson · 2003 Sotogrande

A European Tour stop in 2014 (the NH Collection Open) and home of the Aramco Team Series 2021 and 2022.

🛰️ The course from the sky

La Reserva opened in 2003. Cabell B. Robinson, for many years Robert Trent Jones Sr's man in Europe, designed it on high ground above Sotogrande. The course runs through two valleys that meet in a Y shape. It is a par 72 of about 6,700 metres from the back tees. The fairways are wide, the greens are large, and water appears on about six holes. The four par 3s are the holes players remember; two play across water. It is a modern resort-style course: big scale, long from the tips, but with room to miss, so mid and high handicaps can enjoy it from the right tees. The club also runs an academy led by Manuel Piñero and a sand lagoon, The Beach, for families. Green fees in 2026 run from about 109 euros in low season to 262 euros in high season, with twilight near 107 euros. Handicap limits are 28 for men and 34 for women. Buggies cost about 45 euros; book on the club's own site.

What the internet says

Leadingcourses users score it 9.0 from 91 reviews (read 2026), inside that platform's Spanish top ten. Top100GolfCourses users average about 4.5 of 5 and the site ranks it 13th in Spain. Players praise the space, the conditioning after recent bunker and green work, and the quiet. The recurring criticism is price against experience: reviewers say 240 euros and up feels high for a resort course, even a very good one.

The course and the greens

Reviewers praise fast, smooth greens that are a pleasure to putt on. Most say the whole course is presented in excellent shape, though a few visits found it below that level.

Arrival and the welcome

Visitors describe friendly, attentive staff from arrival to the last hole. Several reviews mention the team helping with everything, even in bad weather.
