Los Arqueros Golf & Country Club
Seve's first design in Spain.
🛰️ The course from the sky↓
Los Arqueros was the first course Seve Ballesteros designed on the Costa del Sol. It opened in 1991 in the foothills of the Sierra de Ronda, above San Pedro on the road to Ronda. It is a par 71 of about 5,700 metres from the white tees, but direction matters more than length here. The fairways are narrow, some under 15 metres, the land tilts, and several shots are blind. Three lakes and streams cross the holes, so bring spare balls. The club is owned by Taylor Wimpey and also runs tennis, padel and a gym, with a strong member scene. Green fees for 2026 are 80 euros in summer, 90 euros in mid season, and 110 euros in the high months of spring and autumn. Annual membership costs 1,381 euros from June 2026, or 2,021 euros with a buggy. A handicap certificate is required: 28 for men, 36 for women.
The club's own 2026 card: 80 in summer, 110 in spring and autumn.
A year unlimited is 3,550 euros, 5,050 with the buggy; a couple 6,575, or 8,800 with buggies. Round packs run from 30 rounds at 1,800, and active shareholders get 20 percent off the yearly golf fees (verified with the club, Aug 2026).
A range with the academy a few steps from the clubhouse, two putting greens and a chipping green.
What the internet says
On Leadingcourses, Los Arqueros scores 7.7 from 346 reviews (read 2026) and holds a Golfers Choice 2026 badge. Golfshake shows 4.6 of 5 from 51 reviews, and 96 percent would play again. The Albrecht Golf Guide gives 4.0 of 5 from 51 reviews. Players praise the layout, the views, the greens and the friendly staff. The repeated warnings: the narrow fairways and blind shots cost many balls, tee boxes are worn, tee times sell out months ahead in season, rounds can be slow, and in mid 2026 the driving range was closed for a period.
The course and the greens
TripAdvisor players mostly report a well kept course with fast, true greens. A few say the greens suffer in very dry summers because of the water the club has to use.
Arrival and the welcome
Reviewers on TripAdvisor and leadingcourses call the staff super friendly, from the pro shop to the bar. Many say the warm welcome is a highlight of the visit.
