Marbella Club Golf Resort
The Marbella Club hotel's own course, with views to Gibraltar. One of the few clubs that publishes its maintenance weeks.
🛰️ The course from the sky↓
Marbella Club Golf Resort is the course of the Marbella Club and Puente Romano hotels. Dave Thomas designed it, and it opened in 1999 in the hills of Benahavís, about 20 minutes from the hotel with a shuttle for guests. It is a par 72 of 6,247 metres, with shaped fairways, waterfalls, lakes and small, rolling greens. The views reach Gibraltar and the African coast. The club limits play to about 80 players a day and spaces tee times 12 minutes apart, so the course stays quiet. Handicap limits are 28 for men and 36 for women. The club publishes its maintenance weeks each year; early September 2026 was blocked for works. Green fees start from about 100 euros, and 2026 online tee times ran 128 euros in summer and 168 euros in autumn. The land is steep, so most players take a buggy.
From about 100; bookable 2026 times ran 128 in summer to 168 in autumn. A buggy is 40 euros, included in summer. The club's own high season is 1 March to 31 May and 15 September to 16 November, so book ahead then.
External members, people without a plot at the resort, pay 5,800 euros a year single or 8,400 a couple with the buggy included, or 1,000 and 2,000 a month. Guests of a member pay 90 plus 40 for a buggy, and members get 20 percent off in the clubhouse and 10 percent in the pro shop. Fees are due by 1 March, and there are no 2027 rates yet (verified with the club, Sep 2026).
A range with grass and mats, a putting green, a chipping green and a practice bunker.
What the internet says
On Leadingcourses, the course scores 8.3 from 224 reviews (read 2026), with value for money at 8.2 and surroundings at 8.7. The Albrecht Golf Guide shows 3.7 of 5 from 18 reviews, and golfinspain users give 3.8 of 5 from 18 reviews. Players praise the calm, the wide spacing between groups, the true greens and the clubhouse food. The repeated warnings: the slopes are hard work without a buggy, and some winter and mid 2026 reviewers found bunkers and fairway condition below what the price suggests.
The course and the greens
Opinions are mixed. Some reviewers found the greens excellent and true, while others found them slow or in poor shape, with tee boxes that let the course down.
Arrival and the welcome
Reviewers on TripAdvisor and golfshake praise the caddie master, the starter and the office staff. Many guests say they were made to feel especially welcome from the moment they arrived.
