Mijas Golf, Los Lagos
The flat, water-laden Trent Jones classic, rebuilt in 2012.
🛰️ The course from the sky↓
Los Lagos is the older and bigger of the two courses at Mijas Golf, in the valley north of Fuengirola. Robert Trent Jones Sr designed it, and it opened in 1976. The whole course was rebuilt in 2012, with new irrigation, drainage and larger greens. It is a par 72 of 6,536 metres, long from the back tees but played over easy ground with soft slopes. Water is the test here: nine lakes come into play at about half the holes, while the rough is light and the fairways are wide. The long par-5 5th, with a boundary wall down the left and water near the green, is the best-known hole. The course suits players who want a big, open layout where a bad shot finds water, not trees. Prices move with demand: in 2026 a standard round ran from 82 euros in August to about 112 euros in autumn, with early-bird and twilight rates below that. Buggies cost 30 to 40 euros. Book online.
Prices move with demand; early and twilight rates are cheaper.
A 300 metre grass range with covered bays and Trackman, shared by both courses, plus a big putting green and a redone chipping area.
One clubhouse serves both courses, open to members and the general public alike.
What the internet says
Platforms rate the two Mijas courses as one club. On Leadingcourses it scores 7.7 from 135 reviews (read 2026). Golfshake shows 3.7 from 79 reviews, with 86 percent ready to return and pace of play the best sub-score at 4.2. Top100GolfCourses user reviews put Los Lagos at about 3.5 of 5, and golfinspain users at 3.64 from 73. Players praise the wide, forgiving fairways and steady pace. The warnings: condition dips get punished in reviews, several mention stones in the bunkers, and some call peak fees near 100 euros high for what they found.
