Río Real Golf & Hotel
A Javier Arana classic with its own small golf hotel. Spanish professionals' championship 1967.
🛰️ The course from the sky↓
Río Real is the old course of Marbella town, five minutes east of the centre. Javier Arana designed it, and it opened in 1965. It is a par 72 of just over 6,000 metres. The Río Real river gives the course its shape: it crosses the property on its way to the sea, and fourteen holes sit on the flat land along the river and the beach, with four more on a slope above. Pines and palms line the fairways, the greens are small and well bunkered, and the 4th turns left from a high tee down to a green almost on the shore. The Spanish federation has long listed it among the country's best layouts. The club runs its own small hotel beside the first tee and a teaching academy. Prices are dynamic and start at about 100 euros (2026); book on the club's website. It suits golfers who want a classic, walkable Arana course; the busy A-7 road passes close to a few holes.
Prices move with demand; from about €100.
There is a waiting list to become a member. Meanwhile the club sells Amigo cards: Silver gives 10 percent off green fees for you and your friends for a year, and Gold is 100 personal rounds, January to December (verified with the club, Aug 2026).
An academy range with Toptracer machines.
El Club at the golf hotel takes public bookings.
