San Roque Golf & Resort is the former New Course of The San Roque Club, now run as a separate club. Perry Dye designed it with input from Seve Ballesteros, and it opened in 2003. It is a par 72 of 6,497 metres over rolling ground, with cork and holm oaks, large Dye-style bunkers, water, and sea views from many holes. From the tee some holes look narrow and frightening, but there is more room than it seems. In its San Roque Club years it hosted the 2006 Spanish Open and Qualifying School finals. Today it is the value option in the Sotogrande area: prices in 2026 run from about 62 euros, moving with season and demand. The new owners replaced the irrigation and pumping system over winter 2025-26, so conditions should improve. Five tee sets fit most levels. Book through the club's online tee sheet.
The two operator price lists disagree on this one; check with the club for your date. A buggy is 45 euros.
No classic membership: yearly green fee passes instead. A year is 2,050 euros for one, 3,000 a couple, 1,365 twilight-only; half-year versions exist, and a year of buggies is 525 (verified with the club, Aug 2026).
A two tier, part covered range with Toptracer for every visiting golfer, plus putting greens, pitching and bunkers.
The clubhouse restaurant keeps a members club feel, but visitors report paying and eating there without trouble.

Reviews for this course sit mostly under old combined San Roque listings, so read the numbers with care: the shared San Roque Google listing shows 4.4 from 911 reviews (read 2026). Top100GolfCourses ranks it 44th in Spain, with user reviews there around 3.5 of 5. Recent reviewers describe a hard, scenic course: huge bunkers, water, blind shots, narrow fairways, fast greens. The warning theme is difficulty; high handicaps lose balls here.
The course and the greens
Reviews split. Some visitors found firm, fast and true greens, while others met bumpy surfaces and bare patches. Most agree it is kept more simply than the Old Course, which the lower green fee reflects.

Reviewers consistently call the staff friendly at arrival, in the shop and at the bar. Several mention the team being flexible and helpful.
