Santana Golf

⛳ 18 holes · par 72 Cabell B. Robinson · 2004 Mijas

Built on an old avocado plantation. One of the few clubs that publishes its greens maintenance dates.

🛰️ The course from the sky

Santana Golf sits in the countryside behind La Cala de Mijas, on the road to Entrerríos. Cabell B. Robinson, who also designed La Cala's three courses and Finca Cortesín, built it in 2004 on a former avocado farm that was once among the biggest in Europe. Avocado and orange trees still line the fairways. It is a par 72 of about 6,200 metres on mostly gentle ground: wide fairways, bunkers filled with crushed marble sand, water on several holes, and the Mijas mountains behind. It is a fair course for mid handicaps rather than a punishing test. Two things to know before you go. There is no driving range, only warm-up nets near the first tee. And the club publishes its maintenance closures on its own website, for example greens work on 1 to 3 September 2026, so check the schedule before booking. In 2026 rates ran from about 87 euros in August to 114 to 125 euros in the autumn high season. Bookings go through the caddie master or the booking sites.

Green fee €87–125 2026/27 season, low to high

A buggy is 30 to 40 euros with the season.

What the internet says

On Leadingcourses it scores 7.9 from 126 reviews (read 2026). Golfshake users give 4.1 from 117 reviews, and 97 percent would play again, with hospitality at 4.3 and food at 4.2 the top sub-scores. Players praise the friendly staff, the condition and the tapas after the round. The warnings are consistent: practice facilities score only 3.0 because there is no driving range, and value for money is the weakest theme at 3.4, with several reviewers calling peak prices high for what is offered.

The course and the greens

Reviewers on TripAdvisor and Leading Courses say Santana is kept in very good condition through the year. The greens are fair but not fast, and they can be slow after heavy rain.

Arrival and the welcome

Visitors mention kind and helpful staff in almost every review. Many say the club feels friendly and relaxed from the first minute.

From the guides
