Valle Romano Golf & Resort

⛳ 18 holes · par 71 Cabell B. Robinson · 2010 Estepona

Challenge Tour match play 2018 and 2019, and a Tour qualifying stage in 2013.

🛰️ The course from the sky

Valle Romano is a modern resort course on the west edge of Estepona town. Cabell B. Robinson designed it, and it opened in 2010. It is a par 71 of 6,214 metres, with wide fairways, large greens and open views to the sea and the Sierra Bermeja. Each nine starts with a par 5, the round finishes par 3, par 5, par 3, and every hole carries the name of a famous Spanish golfer. The first holes sit above a tunnel of the AP-7, though you never see the motorway while you play. Professionals know the place: the Challenge Tour played its Andalucía match play here in 2018 and 2019, and a European Tour qualifying stage came in 2013. The slopes are moderate for this coast, but most visitors still take a buggy, and there is a floodlit practice range. The 2026/27 operator lists show about 118 euros; the club sells packs and summer offers on its own site.

Green fee €73–105 2026 card, low to high

The club's own 2026 card: 73 euros in July and August, 84 in mid season, 105 in high; with the buggy 88 to 115, twilight 71 to 84. Vouchers: 10 rounds 750 euros, 20 for 1,400, 40 for 2,480, buggy versions 850 to 2,880.

Membership

Memberships come by the year, half year or quarter with unlimited rounds, buggy shared, guests at 30 percent off; the price is set on application, the club's 2027 dossier does not print it. Round vouchers are the other door: 10 for 800 euros, 20 for 1,450, 40 for 2,530 in 2027, buggy versions 900 to 2,930, plus 15 a round in high season (verified with the club, Aug 2026).

What the internet says

On Leadingcourses, Valle Romano scores 7.8 from 223 reviews (read 2026). Golfshake users give 4.4 of 5 from 30 reviews, and 100 percent would play again. The Albrecht Golf Guide shows 3.9 of 5 from 57 reviews. Players praise the condition first: clean fairways, quick, smooth greens and a well-run modern clubhouse, and many call it strong value for the money. The warnings: slow rounds at busy times come up in several reviews, and the greens can run so fast that casual players struggle to score. A few reviewers also note the walk is harder than the flat look suggests.

The course and the greens

Recent reviewers report greens in poor condition, with bare spots and slow surfaces. Staff have told visitors about water problems, and many reviews say the fine layout deserves better care.

Arrival and the welcome

Visitors consistently say the team makes them very welcome. Recent reviews praise a helpful caddie master and friendly, smooth service from arrival onwards.
