Chiringuito Puente Romano

Chiringuito Puente Romano, on the Golden Mile, is my absolute favourite spot on the coast, and the reason is consistency. It is good in peak season and good in low season. They simply bring in more waiters.

Recently renovated. You can go for lunch or dinner, but I recommend it for lunch. Book ahead by phone, unless it is somewhere in November.

Know where to sit. The inner covered part is slightly boring. The part around the bar is where lunch happens, and it sits in the shade. Then comes the sand, with actual rabbits running around, and beyond that the lounge chairs for drinks after, the DJ, and the cabanas.

An absolute must when visiting the Costa del Sol. This is where my wife spots celebrities from all over the world. I have personally seen Brad Pitt, Michael Jordan and Russell Crowe. You name it.

Dress code does not really exist, but most people come glammed up. Expect big sunglasses, big lips, summer dresses and white linen.
