Atlas is one year old, and I wanted to take him to a Halloween party. I found one, Marbella Mania's baby morning in El Paraíso, and then kept looking, because not everyone has a one year old. Some of you have older children asking for something genuinely scary, and some have a babysitter booked and a costume ready.
This guide is organised so you can quickly find what's near you. It goes town by town along the coast, west to east, Estepona first, and inside each town the events run by age, babies first and parties last. Under each one you get the date and time, the price, a map link and where to book. The pumpkins are at the end.
Halloween is on Saturday 31 October this year, and Monday 2 November is a holiday in Andalucía, so it is a long weekend. Most of the 43 events here fall between 30 October and 1 November. A few come earlier in the month.

"When we were young and single, we would all look anxiously for the best party, the best nightclub, whether that was Supperclub, Mamzel, COYA or Motel. Now, with a baby, it is much more pleasant." Filip

Laberintus Scream Park, Humilladero
A bigger Halloween experience, inland in Málaga province. There are two haunted houses, La Feria and La Cosecha, and a separate extreme house called El Granero, which isn't for the faint-hearted and is for 18 and over. Good luck, because you won't ever see me there. I'm too weak for this stuff and get spooked by pumpkin carving.

Where to buy real Halloween pumpkins
Sometimes the plan is simply to bring a pumpkin home, decorate it and have a little Halloween afternoon of your own.
Mercadona and the other supermarkets will have them. Every year Mercadona starts stacking pumpkins about a week before the 31st. They come with black stickers so you know where to cut, and some people just leave them as they are. This is your easiest bet. The nearest one is on our supermarkets map.
Agrojardín, the garden centre in Estepona, is worth a call if you're nearby.
I haven't found a pick-your-own pumpkin patch on the Costa del Sol yet. The pumpkin workshops above are organised activities rather than farms where you choose pumpkins from a field.
Found something we should add?
If you've spotted another Halloween event, know a shop with real pumpkins in stock, or are organising something yourself, share it on Forum Costa. Baby sessions, little neighbourhood parties and local workshops are just as welcome as the big nights out.
And if you're at Marbella Mania's baby Halloween, maybe we'll see you there with our little pumpkin.
